Wadmill lake Dave Coogan fished a day session on the lake taking a 19lb 12oz mirror. Big Hayes specimen lake Dave Coogan moved on to Big Hayes for 24 hours taking 6 doubles topped by a 19lb 2oz common, Dave fished the new CC Moore N-Gage boilies with small groundbait sticks. Shane Higgins did the day taking 3 doubles topped by 19lb 14oz mirror. Kev Robus also did the day taking 6 doubles to 15lb 10oz.
Big Hayes specimen lake Lee Price took 6 doubles to 15lb. Dave Bowden continued his good form on the lake taking a further 10 fish to 16lb 7oz. Paddock specimen lake Scotty Withall has carried on taking advantage of the early catfish banking a 19lb 15oz moggie, Scotty fished a popped up livebait rudd caught from the lake.
Big Hayes specimen lake Nick Smith took 7 doubles topped by a 17lb mirror. Dan Vallis finished his session on 13 doubles to 18lb. Jack Stamp did 24 hours taking 6 double figured carp, Jack banked commons of 17lb and 18lb 4oz, he also banked mirrors of 18lb and 19lb 6oz. Dave Bowden took 6 doubles topped by a 17lb 4oz mirror, Dave Used the new N-Gage boilies from CC Moore. I did a day session taking 6 doubles to 15lb. Paddock specimen lake Darren Bealing did an overnighter taking a 19lb mirror. Jay Gasson fished with him also taking one mirror at just over 20lb.
Big Hayes specimen lake Dan Vallis did 3 nights taking 8 doubles topped by an 18lb mirror. 1st March 2010 Big Hayes specimen lake Lee Price did a 24 hour session taking 8 doubles topped by a 24lb 7oz mirror. Colin Mould did a day session taking mirrors of 15lb 6oz, 16lb 10oz, 17lb 2oz and 17lb 8oz. Dave Bowden did 36 hours taking 17 doubles topped by a 19lb 6oz mirror. Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 6th qualifier: Due to the lake freezing on the original date, we had no option but to move the 6th qualifier on to the yet to be opened Little Hayes the following week. Making the most of this opportunity was Yeovil based angler Dan McKenzie taking 20 carp for a weight of 227lb, Dan's haul was topped by a cracking 25lb 2oz mirror. 2nd and taking that final qualifying spot was Roger Smith who had 3 carp for 35lb 2oz beating 3rd place Micky Trew by only 3oz!!
Big Hayes specimen lake Colin Bright did a day session taking 4 doubles topped by a 16lb 4oz mirror. In recent weeks there has been a lot of decent perch to over 2lb being caught. I had a go for these myself taking well over 20 perch with a lot being between 1lb-1lb8oz topped by a 2lb 4oz stripy.

Paddock specimen lake Brian Preston has done 2 short day sessions on the lake taking 3 carp topped by a 19lb mirror, Brian caught the fish using the new CC Moore N-Gage and CC Moore xxx. Scotty Withall did a night taking a 29lb catfish.

Ian Hentschel did a day taking a 14lb mirror and an 18lb mirror. 31st January 2010 Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 5th qualifier: The 5th qualifier saw -6 temperatures at night and by 8pm on the first day the lake was virtually completely frozen. Knowing this was probably going to be the case the 12 anglers had to get a wiggle on and make the most of the first afternoon, doing this was local ace Colin Bright taking 2 doubles for 24lb 8oz, he then went on to take another mirror weighing 12lb 6oz from under the ice at 1.30am sealing the victory. Three other anglers managed to bank single fish on the saturday afternoon with the biggest going to Darren 'Denzi' Berry weighing 13lb 8oz. This was enough for Darren to take the other qualifying spot beating Scott Johnson by just 1lb!!
25th January 2010 Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 4th qualifier: Due to freezing conditions the 4th qualifier was put back two weeks. After this extreme weather no one expected many fish to be landed let alone see Jack Stamp go on to not only win, but smash the Big Hayes Carp Challenge match record with 16 carp for a total of 193lb 8oz. 2nd on the day, also with an impressive haul for the time of year was the 2008/09 over all winner Shane Higgins with 8 carp for 97lb 7oz. 3rd place and just missing out on a qualifying spot was young gun Dan Davies with 3 carp for 43lb 10oz.
Big Hayes specimen lake Darren Finlay did a session on Big Hayes taking 4 carp topped by a 19lb mirror. Darren has asked me to write Dave Bowden a message on the web site, Darren 4 David 0!!! Wadmill Lake 7 year old Finn Pike took 18 carp and bream topped by a 10lb 8oz common, not bad for his first ever fishing trip!!
Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 3rd qualifier: 1st on the day with and impressive 12 fish haul was Karl Palmer with 138lb 6oz. 2nd went to Martin Noble, who went on a late run taking 5 fish in the last 4 hours for 53lb 1oz. 3rd and narrowly missing out on a qualifying spot was Calum Kletta taking 3 carp for 49lb 9oz.

Wadmill lake Tom Butler and Henry Cooper did a day session on the lake taking 1 pike each. Henry's went 17lb and Tom's went 18lb, both pike were caught deadbaiting. Terry Chalke did an overnighter taking 3 doubles topped by a 19lb common. 20th November 2009 Big Hayes specimen lake Terry Chalke did an over nighter taking 6 doubles topped by mirrors of 19lb and 26lb. Terry fished with Dynamite baits spicy tuna and sweet chilli boilies over 2kg of pellet and boilie. 16th November 2009 Big Hayes specimen lake Darren Berry fished on a for a further 24 hours after the match taking a total of 9 doubles topped by a 20lb mirror. 15th November 2009 Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 2nd qualifier: 1st on the day was Dan Newman with a total of 7 carp weighing in at 80lb 2oz, Dan took all of his fish on Todber Manor Red Factor boilies. 2nd and taking the other qualifying spot was Kris Hillier taking 5 carp for 74lb 14oz topped by a 20lb 7oz mirror. 3rd and just missing out on a place in the final was Nick Davis taking 4 carp for 60lb 8oz.

Park lake Rob Turner decided it was time to take his 12 year old son Lewis for a fishing lesson on Park lake, although it didn't quite go to plan for Rob as the only one giving the lesson that day was Lewis taking a total of 11 carp topped by a 7lb common. Rob went on to blank!!!!

28th October 2009 Big Hayes specimen lake Mark Jago took 7 doubles topped by a new personal best in the shape of a 24lb 8oz mirror. Mark caught all his fish using CC Moore XXX boilies and pva bags. Dave Chitson took 2 doubles topped by a 17lb common. Ross Inman took 3 doubles topped by a 19lb mirror, Ross used Todber Manor Red Factor boilies. 25th October 2009 Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 1st qualifier: 1st on the day was David Bowden with 4 carp for 71lb 7oz topped by mirrors of 19lb and 21lb. 2nd went to Lewis Swift with 4 carp for 59lb 2oz, with Lewis's biggest going 17lb 11oz. 3rd and just missing out on a qualifying spot was Joel Parry with 4 carp for 55lb 5oz topped by a 19lb 12oz mirror.

Tony's winning tactic was big solid bags of mixed sized pellet and corn with fake corn as a hook bait. Wadmill lake While his dad was catching well from Big Hayes, 8 year old Oliver Milton wasn't doing a bad job on Wadmill lake taking a new personal best mirror at 10lb 4oz.

23rd September 2009 Paddock specimen lake Danny Hardwick and Spencer Churchill have been banging 'em' out of the Paddock lake. The dynamic duo have done a night so far taking 4 carp including mirrors of 15lb 14oz, 17lb 5oz, 19lb and 20lb 8oz.

Elizabeth took multiple catches of carp including a stunning 8lb mirror.

Paddock specimen lake Our very own Mark Brown managed to get clearance from the wife to an overnighter on the lake!! Mark took 2 cats and 4 carp topped by a 21lb 6oz mirror. Scotty Withall did 2 nights taking 4 carp topped by a 17lb 2oz common and a personal best 28lb catfish. Dave Watkins took a 23lb linear.

Steve Mitchell fished 2 nights taking 13 carp topped by a 19lb 12oz mirror, Steve used his bait boat and fed around 30kg of mixed pellet and boilie over the 48 hours. Dean Partridge took 4 doubles topped by a 21lb mirror and a 22lb 3oz common. 24th July 2009 Wadmill lake Jonathan Hill smashed his personal best in the shape of a 23lb 6oz mirror whilst on a fishing trip with Blandford school. Big Hayes lake Graham Lawrence and Geoff Stevens took 65 carp between them to 21lb over 5 days. James Wolff took 10 doubles topped by a 22lb 4oz mirror. Tim 'Bruno' Koch did 24 hours taking 15 carp topped by a 19lb common.

Paddock specimen lake Malcom Humberstone and Bob Adams from Sheffield fished a week on the lake, Malcom took 10 carp topped by mirrors of 18lb 1oz & 19lb 6oz and a lake record grass carp at 17lb 8oz, Bob took 6 carp to 20lb 1oz. The pair also managed 11 cats between the to mid doubles.

Paddock specimen lake Ross Starkey had a 14lb 6oz cat and a personal best cat at 22lb 14oz. Jamie Harvey Took 2 cats topped by a personal best 31lb. Peter Salgado took a 22lb 8oz cat and a 19lb mirror. Neil Williams took a 20lb 8oz mirror, a 17lb common and a Pb 28lb 4oz cat fish. Phil Scriven managed to bank his first cat after 3 times of trying, the moggie went 77lb 8oz (third time lucky springs to mind!!!!)
Big Hayes specimen lake BCAC qualifying round 2009: 69 carp were banked by 12 pairs on a very wet and windy weekend. Wadmill lake Jake Eyles from Bath age 16 caught 25 fish on Wadmill lake topped by an 18lb 6oz mirror carp caught on Red Factor dumbell's topped with a fake corn stop. Lauren Morton aged 13 fished a 48 hour session on Wadmill lake with her dad, in total they had over 80 carp to double figures. All the carp fell to Tails Up boilies over PVA bags and scolded pellet around a method feeder.
Paddock specimen lake Six times Drennan cup winner Terry Lampard put time aside this spring to try and bank the awesome big cat from the Paddock specimen lake. His first trip resulted in a 22lb cat and on his second trip he managed to tame the beast weighing in at just over 80lb. Terry fished a popped up live bait rudd caught from the lake.

16th April 2009 Paddock specimen lake Rosco Starkey has been at it again doing another 3 night sessions taking a further 12 cat fish, this brings his total up to 15 catfish to 22lb in the last 10 days. Rosco has also been amongst the carp taking 4 doubles topped by mirrors of 20lb 6oz and 22lb 2oz, Rosco's winning tactics have been live baits and Todber Manor Red Factor boilies over large beds of mixed sized trout pellet. Chris Buggler did a day session taking a 22lb 8oz mirror. 16th March 2009 Big Hayes carp challenge 2008/09 Final With the anglers buzzing at the draw and the weather looking promising the scene was set for another great Big Hayes Carp Challenge final, and we weren't disappointed!! In total 42 carp were banked between 12 anglers during the 27 hour event and was a close fought contest for the top 3 money spots. The hooter went for the start of the match at 12 o'clock midday on the Saturday, and it wasn't long before Alec 'A-rod' Murphy in peg 1 banked the first carp of the match. He then went on to bank another two low doubles before anyone else had troubled the scorers. One or two more fish had been banked around the lake when Shane Higgins went on a run taking 4 carp in an hour pushing his way into 1st place. The two then went fish for fish battling it out for the top two spots, and slowly creeping away from the rest of the field looking set to be 1st and 2nd come the end. Then as darkness fell another contender emerged from nowhere, young star Lewis Swift on peg 9 went on a staggering run taking 6 carp including mirrors of 19lb 12oz, 20lb 11oz and 21lb 9oz putting himself into to 2nd spot just 8lb in front of Alec. Shane Higgins also banked a few more that night putting himself into a very strong position come day break. With bright sunshine and no wind on the Sunday the fishing took a turn for the worst and anglers where left scratching for odd bites, (much to the delight of the top three!!) Come the end despite one or two scares the top three stayed the same, with 1st place and £1000 going to Shane Higgins with 11 carp for 143lb 7oz. 2nd place and £750 going to Lewis Swift with 6 carp for 100lb 4oz. 3rd place and £400 going to Alec Murphy with 8 carp for 92lb 7oz. There was also prizes for the biggest mirror and common over the whole competition. They went to Alan Magee with a 23lb 2oz mirror and Jack Stamp with a 17lb 4oz common, who both took home the awesome new Kevin Nash indulgence bedchair. All anglers who competed in the final took home a Kevin Nash goodie bag worth over £50. Todber Manor would like to thank Nash tackle for supplying over £1000 worth of prizes for the competition. We would also like to thank Rosco Starkey and Colin Bright for marshalling the matches and insuring the whole thing ran smoothly.

Jacks catch was topped by an 18lb 10oz mirror and also included the biggest common of the competition so far at 17lb 4oz. 2nd on the day and taking the other qualifying spot was Toby Coulter with 5 carp for 51lb 15oz. 3rd place went to Dave Bowden with 3 carp for 31lb 15oz and 4th went Alec Murphy with 2 carp for 20lb 1oz.

Big Hayes carp challenge 2008/09 (3rd qualifier) With night time temperatures of -5 forecast, no one expected this round to fish as well as the previous two. As it turned out they were all proved right and by midnight the lake was completely frozen over! With only one angler catching before the lake had frozen over it was put to the vote on what to do next. As the lake didn't look like ever thawing out, the majority of the field went with finishing the match early and going to the draw bag for the other qualifying spot. Shane Higgins from Yeovil took top spot with a 12lb 4oz mirror and the other place went to Billy Richards who travelled all the way down from Manchester.

7th October 2008 Big Hayes specimen lake Chris Roberts did 36 hours taking 7 doubles topped by a new personal best 20lb 4oz mirror, Chris used Todber Manor Red Factor boilies tipped with a CC Moore Hell raiser flouro pop-up. Josh Jones broke his personal best twice with a 15lb mirror and then 20 minutes later took an 18lb 7oz mirror. Oisin Riley took 13 carp to just over 19lb.

Park lake Gillingham AA used the Park lake for part of their 3 day festival over the bank holiday weekend. Over the 3 days there was a total of 21 100lb+ bags recorded between 54 anglers. Clive and Chris Austin fished 48 hours taking 12 carp between them to 17lb, they fished CC Moore XXX with the method feeder and pva bags of pellet. Kris Hillier is 12 hours into a 48 hour session and has already taken 9 upper doubles to 18lb 12oz. Wadmill Lake Henry White did 36 hours on Wadmill taking in excess of 40 carp to 19lb 5oz, Henry caught using Dynamite baits Source and Tigernut boilies.

Tristan Holloway did a 48 hour session taking 11 carp to 21lb 8oz, Tristan fished Todber Manor Red Factor dumbells tipped with fake corn over 6kg of pellet, sweetcorn and matching boilie. Barry Moss took 4 carp to 18lb 4oz.
Big Hayes specimen lake Jack Hargreaves took a new personal best 17lb common, Jack fished tiger nuts over a small bed of matching freebies. The RAF fished a 48 hour match on the venue, all 10 teams caught with the majority of the carp being double figured. Gav McQuillan banked the biggest of the competition at 21lb 10oz.

Lewis and Craig fished Todber Manor Red Factor boilies and sweet corn hook baits over small amounts of matching free offerings.
