Big Hayes specimen lake Rob Dodge banked 3 carp to 20lb 3oz. Nicholas Longpre banked 8 carp topped by mirrors of 22lb and 24lb 6oz. Tony Murch took 9 carp topped by a 22lb 2oz mirror.
24th January 2012 Big Hayes carp challenge 2011/12 5th qualifier: The BHCC 5th qualifier saw 67 carp banked over the 27 hour period, 27 of which were upper doubles with the biggest going 23lb 4oz. Topping the pile was Kenny Naylor banking and impressive 14 carp for a weight of 208lb 2oz. Battling it out for 2nd place was Cliff Dunston and Jason Lazzel with Cliff just edging it taking 13 fish for 194lb 3oz to Jason's 12 fish for 193lb 11oz. 4th place went to Jason Coxon with 8 fish for 111lb 1oz. 5th was Martin Lewis with 5 carp for 78lb 1oz.
Paddock specimen lake Simon 'Ernie' Allen did a 24 hour session banking a 24lb 12oz mirror and the mirror known as Dominic at an all time high weight of 27lb 12oz. Ernie caught both of his fish using CC Moore Live System boilies.

Little Hayes specimen lake Gary Shackler did a 3 night stint banking an impressive 27 carp topped by an 18lb mirror. Ash Walters used CC Moore Live System to bank 5 carp topped by a 20lb 3oz mirror. Paddock specimen lake Lewis Swift and Jack Meyer did a night session banking 4 carp between them including mirrors of 20lb 15oz, 22lb 13oz and 24lb 12oz. The dynamic duo fished CC Moore Live system boilies tipped with small orange pop-ups. We will be taking bookings for 2012 on 2nd January at 8am. Last year the lake sold out quickly so get in fast to avoid disappointment.

Martin Saunders took 2 carp topped by a 19lb mirror. Wayne Nash with the the assistance of Nick Saunders banked 2 carp topped by a 21lb mirror. Little Hayes specimen lake Dangerous Danny Hardwick did a day session banking 14 carp topped by a 17lb common. Paddock specimen lake Dill Pittard did a day session banking 8 catfish topped by a 41lb'er. Big Hayes specimen lake Shane 'Hauler' Higgins has also been getting in on the free fishing taking 6 doubles to 18lb. Little Hayes specimen lake Ashley Drew did a day session banking 4 carp to mid doubles and an 11lb bream. 13th December 2011 Big Hayes carp challenge 2011/12 4th qualifier: Once again Big Hayes came up trumps for the 4th qualifier of the the Big Hayes carp challenge. 48 carp were banked in total, half of which were upper doubles up to just over 23lb. Taking the honours was Shane 'Hauler' Higgins who banked 13 carp 4 168lb 2oz. The remaining qualifying spot went to Karl Palmer who banked 8 carp for 114lb 2oz. 3rd went to Cliff Dunston who took 6 carp for 97lb 5oz, Cliff's catch was topped by a 20lb 12oz mirror. 4th was Dave Bowden who banked 6 carp for 88lb 8oz. 5th place went to Toby Coulter who banked 5 carp for 84lb 8oz, Toby's catch included mirrors of 21lb 8oz and 22lb 10oz.
29th November 2011 Big Hayes carp challenge 2011/12 3rd qualifier: Taking top spot was Kris Hillier who banked 9 carp topped by a 21lb 4oz common for a total weight of 129lb 11oz. 2nd and also booking his place in the final was the ever consistent Jack Stamp who banked 6 carp totaling 93lb 1oz. 3rd place and just missing out was Jack Meyer who took 5 carp fro 73lb. Little Hayes specimen lake Sean Chick did a 24 hour session banking 9 carp topped by a new personal best 23lb 10oz mirror.
18th November 2011 Little Hayes specimen lake Rob King banked 7 carp topped by an 18lb 6oz mirror. Nigel Oxford took 2 doubles to 18lb. Colin 'chopper' Mould did a day session banking 6 doubles topped by a 17lb 2oz common and an 18lb 4oz mirror. 15th November 2011 Big Hayes carp challenge 2011/12 2nd qualifier: The 2nd qualifying round of this years BHCC proved to be one of the closest and most prolific matches we have had so far. A total of 57 carp were landed between the 12 anglers and topping the pile was Bait Zones Chris Donovan who banked 13 carp carp for a total weight of 160lb 2oz. Also booking his place in the final was Jason Mills who banked 12 carp for 151lb 12oz. Just missing out on spot in the final was Jason Coxon who banked 10 carp for 141lb. 4th place went to Roger smith with 7 carp for 92lb 9oz. 24th October 2011 Big Hayes carp challenge 2011/12 1st qualifier: All 12 anglers caught during the 27 hour match banking a total of 44 carp between them. 1st place went to Kia Sanger who banked 10 carp for a total of 145lb 14oz, Kia's catch was topped by mirrors of 19lb 12oz and 20lb 12oz. Kia took all of his fish using 10mm CC Moore Live System boilies in solid pva bags of CC Moore oily bag mix. 2nd place and taking the other qualifying spot was Lou Cross who also used CC Moore Live System boilies to bank 5 carp for 89lb12oz, Lou's catch included mirrors of 20lb 6oz and 25lb 8oz. 3rd place and narrowly missing out on a spot in the final was Ryan Green who banked 5 carp for 78lb 3oz.

again for this years BHCC final with all 12 anglers
catching, banking a total of 83 fish between them during the 27
hour match. 1st and taking the £1000 prize was Chris Roberts who
banked 19 carp for a BHCC match record of 244lb 12oz. 2nd and
taking £750 was Dave Bowden with 16 fish for 203lb 9oz. 3rd place
and taking £400 was Shane Higgins who banked 12 carp for 160lb.
The biggest mirror overall weighing 24lb 2oz went to Ian Hentschel and
the biggest common weighing 20lb 4oz went to Karl Palmer. Both anglers
went home with a Nash indulgence sleep system bedchair. Todber Manor
would like to thank Kevin Nash for once again donating the prizes for
this years event.

Paddock specimen lake After a hard days work helping layout the new bivvy showroom Nash rep Alan Price managed to sneak in a night up on the Paddock lake banking a 22lb mirror. Alan used the new Nash bait Monster squid boilies tipped with a pink 10mm monster squid rainbow pop-up over a bed of matching freebies, chain reactions and soluballs. The match was fished over 48 hours and despite a super hard frost on the first night a fair few carp showed which made for a good close match. 1st place went to Mike Davies and Lee Podmore who banked 210lb 12oz. 2nd went to John Glasscoe who fished the match on his own banking 199lb 15oz. 3rd place was Lee Sustins and James Mitchell who weighed in 198lb 7oz. Hayes fished well for the second qualifier running and despite a ground
frost on the Saturday night a total of 48 carp were banked during the

Paul Richardson and Alex Shorrock once again made the trip down from Manchester banking 27 carp between them, Pauls catch included 12 doubles to 18lb 12oz and Alex banked 15 doubles topped by mirrors of 21lb & 22lb 10oz. Big Hayes Carp Challenge 2010/11 5th qualifier: For once the BHCC qualifier coincided with some mild weather and the lake proved what it could really do when the conditions were right. In total there were 59 carp banked between the 12 anglers over the 27 hour period including 5 20's to 24lb 2oz and around half the carp caught were over 15lb. 1st place went to Ian 'BIG MAN' Hentschel with 12 carp for 192lb 15oz, Ian's catch included two 20's topped by a 24lb 2oz ghost mirror. 2nd place and securing his place in the final was Chris Roberts who banked 8 carp for 114lb 6oz. 3rd and narrowly missing out on a spot in the final was Jamie Londors who banked 9 carp for 113lb 12oz. 4th went to Billy Flowers who banked 8 carp for 97lb 1oz. 5th went to Roger Smith who banked 5 carp for 82lb 8oz. One angler who did not let this get him down was local Scotty Withall who plugged away from start to finish sneaking out 2 carp for a winning weight of 34lb 1oz. 2nd place and taking the other qualifying spot was Daniel Grassick who banked just the 1 carp 10 minutes into the match weighing 13lb 10oz.

Big Hayes Carp Challenge 2010/11 3rd qualifier: After 5 weeks of the lake being completely frozen the ice finally gave way and Big Hayes thawed out just days before the 3rd qualifier. Taking the honours and qualifying for the 3rd successive year was ex BHCC champ Shane 'Hauler' Higgins banking 4 carp for a total of 61lb 2oz. Second place went to young gun Kenny Naylor who banked 3 carp in the last few hours for a total of 46lb 15oz.

19th July 2010 Big Hayes specimen lake Jamie Bird from Bristol woke up to a bit of a shock friday morning finding no line at all left on one his his reels!!! What had happened here you may ask??? Jamie could only put it down to one thing, a massive catfish must have stripped all of his line off in the night!! He later on found out that he had slept through a run during the night and the fish he had hooked (a mid double carp not a monster catfish) had managed to get tangled up with his mate Clives rod to his left. Clive played the fish in, landed it and returned the fish unharmed, Clive then went on to do the right thing and handline in the remainder of the trailing line, which unknown to him was attached to Jamies rod and reel! The moral of this story Jamie is to either turn your bite alarms up at night or lay off of the blow up dolls, but that's another story!! Now getting onto some anglers who managed to get up in the night when the alarms went off! 8th April 2010 Big Hayes specimen lake Lee Price did 24 hours taking 11 doubles topped by a 20lb mirror. Lee caught all his carp on Todber Manor Red Factor and Mainline cell.
Little Hayes specimen lake update Jamie Londors and Billy Flowers of Nash Tackle and Diem clothing fished a 36 hour session on the lake for a feature. The dynamic duo banked over 80 carp during this time, with the average size of the fish being between 12lb & 16lb with the the odd bigger one topped by a 24lb 8oz mirror. Paddock specimen lake Thomas Cook had a 29lb catfish. Darren Ford took a 16lb catfish, 26lb catfish and a 16lb carp. Joe Miller had a new personal best 33lb 8oz catfish, Joe used a live bait rudd caught from the lake.

24th March 2010 Paddock specimen lake Pete Williamson took 7 carp topped by two mirrors at 23lb 8oz and one at 22lb, Pete fished with CC Moore XXX boilies. Darren Styles took a 21lb mirror and a 30lb catfish. Toni Elbrow caught her first ever catfish at just over 10lb. 16th March 2010 Big Hayes specimen lake Wayne Addams did 2 nights taking 7 doubles topped by a 16lb 4oz mirror. Wadmill lake Emily O'Neill did a day session taking a new personal best mirror at 14lb 6oz, Emily caught her new p.b on a float fished worm.
Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 Final: Big Hayes once again was on top form for the annual Big Hayes carp challenge final, throwing up a total of 53 carp over 27 hours between the 12 finalists. 1st place, taking home a cool £1000 and crowned the Big Hayes Carp Challenge champion 2010 was Jack Stamp with an impressive 19 carp haul for a total of 243lb 13oz. 2nd was Dan Mckenzie with 9 carp for 134lb 3oz winning £750. 3rd place and taking home £400 was Roger Smith with 7 carp 100lb 6oz. The prizes for the biggest mirror and common carp went to Dan Mckenzie with a 25lb 2oz mirror and Lewis Swift with an 18lb 7oz common, both anglers won the brand new Kevin Nash Indulgence Air-lite sleep system bedchair worth £300. Todber Manor would like to thank Kevin Nash for supplying the biggest fish prizes and the goodie bags for all of the qualifiers.
13th March 2010 Big Hayes specimen lake Scotty Withall did a day session on the lake for carp and perch. Scotty banked over 30 perch with 6 over 2lb topped by a 2lb 8oz specimen, he also managed to land 3 carp topped by a 23lb 9oz ghost mirror.
Wadmill lake Dave Coogan fished a day session on the lake taking a 19lb 12oz mirror. Big Hayes specimen lake Dave Coogan moved on to Big Hayes for 36 hours taking 8 doubles topped by a 19lb 2oz common and a 20lb 12oz mirror, Dave fished the new CC Moore N-Gage boilies with small groundbait sticks. Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 6th qualifier: Due to the lake freezing on the original date, we had no option but to move the 6th qualifier on to the yet to be opened Little Hayes the following week. Making the most of this opportunity was Yeovil based angler Dan McKenzie taking 20 carp for a weight of 227lb, Dan's haul was topped by a cracking 25lb 2oz mirror. 2nd and taking that final qualifying spot was Roger Smith who had 3 carp for 35lb 2oz beating 3rd place Micky Trew by only 3oz!!

Ian Hentschel did a day taking a 14lb mirror and an 18lb mirror. 31st January 2010 Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 5th qualifier: The 5th qualifier saw -6 temperatures at night and by 8pm on the first day the lake was virtually completely frozen. Knowing this was probably going to be the case the 12 anglers had to get a wiggle on and make the most of the first afternoon, doing this was local ace Colin Bright taking 2 doubles for 24lb 8oz, he then went on to take another mirror weighing 12lb 6oz from under the ice at 1.30am sealing the victory. Three other anglers managed to bank single fish on the saturday afternoon with the biggest going to Darren 'Denzi' Berry weighing 13lb 8oz. This was enough for Darren to take the other qualifying spot beating Scott Johnson by just 1lb!!
25th January 2010 Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 4th qualifier: Due to freezing conditions the 4th qualifier was put back two weeks. After this extreme weather no one expected many fish to be landed let alone see Jack Stamp go on to not only win, but smash the Big Hayes Carp Challenge match record with 16 carp for a total of 193lb 8oz. 2nd on the day, also with an impressive haul for the time of year was the 2008/09 over all winner Shane Higgins with 8 carp for 97lb 7oz. 3rd place and just missing out on a qualifying spot was young gun Dan Davies with 3 carp for 43lb 10oz.

Terry fished with Dynamite baits spicy tuna and sweet chilli boilies over 2kg of pellet and boilie. 16th November 2009 Big Hayes specimen lake Darren Berry fished on a for a further 24 hours after the match taking a total of 9 doubles topped by a 20lb mirror. 15th November 2009 Big Hayes carp challenge 2009/10 2nd qualifier: 1st on the day was Dan Newman with a total of 7 carp weighing in at 80lb 2oz, Dan took all of his fish on Todber Manor Red Factor boilies. 2nd and taking the other qualifying spot was Kris Hillier taking 5 carp for 74lb 14oz topped by a 20lb 7oz mirror. 3rd and just missing out on a place in the final was Nick Davis taking 4 carp for 60lb 8oz.

Big Hayes specimen lake BCAC qualifying round 2009: 69 carp were banked by 12 pairs on a very wet and windy weekend. The fish were very spread out and everyone was in with a chance of qualifying come the end. 1st on the day was Korda B team Neil Spooner and Garth Elthleston with 13 carp for 147lb 1oz, 2nd was brothers Jordan and Paul Allen with 11 carp for 146lb 6oz and taking 3rd was team Mainline's Rob Marsh and Lee Merrit with 12 carp for 141lb 7oz.

Wadmill lake Jake Eyles from Bath age 16 caught 25 fish on Wadmill lake topped by an 18lb 6oz mirror carp caught on Red Factor dumbell's topped with a fake corn stop. Lauren Morton aged 13 fished a 48 hour session on Wadmill lake with her dad, in total they had over 80 carp to double figures. All the carp fell to Tails Up boilies over PVA bags and scolded pellet around a method feeder.
Paddock specimen lake Six times Drennan cup winner Terry Lampard put time aside this spring to try and bank the awesome big cat from the Paddock specimen lake. His first trip resulted in a 22lb cat and on his second trip he managed to tame the beast weighing in at just over 80lb. Terry fished a popped up live bait rudd caught from the lake.

Chris Buggler did a day session taking a 22lb 8oz mirror. 16th March 2009 Big Hayes carp challenge 2008/09 Final With the anglers buzzing at the draw and the weather looking promising the scene was set for another great Big Hayes Carp Challenge final, and we weren't disappointed!! In total 42 carp were banked between 12 anglers during the 27 hour event and was a close fought contest for the top 3 money spots. The hooter went for the start of the match at 12 o'clock midday on the Saturday, and it wasn't long before Alec 'A-rod' Murphy in peg 1 banked the first carp of the match. He then went on to bank another two low doubles before anyone else had troubled the scorers. One or two more fish had been banked around the lake when Shane Higgins went on a run taking 4 carp in an hour pushing his way into 1st place. The two then went fish for fish battling it out for the top two spots, and slowly creeping away from the rest of the field looking set to be 1st and 2nd come the end. Then as darkness fell another contender emerged from nowhere, young star Lewis Swift on peg 9 went on a staggering run taking 6 carp including mirrors of 19lb 12oz, 20lb 11oz and 21lb 9oz putting himself into to 2nd spot just 8lb in front of Alec. Shane Higgins also banked a few more that night putting himself into a very strong position come day break. With bright sunshine and no wind on the Sunday the fishing took a turn for the worst and anglers where left scratching for odd bites, (much to the delight of the top three!!) Come the end despite one or two scares the top three stayed the same, with 1st place and £1000 going to Shane Higgins with 11 carp for 143lb 7oz. 2nd place and £750 going to Lewis Swift with 6 carp for 100lb 4oz. 3rd place and £400 going to Alec Murphy with 8 carp for 92lb 7oz. There was also prizes for the biggest mirror and common over the whole competition. They went to Alan Magee with a 23lb 2oz mirror and Jack Stamp with a 17lb 4oz common, who both took home the awesome new Kevin Nash indulgence bedchair. All anglers who competed in the final took home a Kevin Nash goodie bag worth over £50. Todber Manor would like to thank Nash tackle for supplying over £1000 worth of prizes for the competition. We would also like to thank Rosco Starkey and Colin Bright for marshalling the matches and insuring the whole thing ran smoothly.

It proved to be a good move as I managed to bank 12 doubles topped by mirrors of 22lb 10oz and 20lb 10oz. I switched between Edge baits plum pop-ups and Todber Manor Red Factor pop-ups throughout the session.

Jacks catch was topped by an 18lb 10oz mirror and also included the biggest common of the competition so far at 17lb 4oz. 2nd on the day and taking the other qualifying spot was Toby Coulter with 5 carp for 51lb 15oz. 3rd place went to Dave Bowden with 3 carp for 31lb 15oz and 4th went Alec Murphy with 2 carp for 20lb 1oz.

Big Hayes carp challenge 2008/09 (3rd qualifier) With night time temperatures of -5 forecast, no one expected this round to fish as well as the previous two. As it turned out they were all proved right and by midnight the lake was completely frozen over! With only one angler catching before the lake had frozen over it was put to the vote on what to do next. As the lake didn't look like ever thawing out, the majority of the field went with finishing the match early and going to the draw bag for the other qualifying spot.
