PADDOCK LAKE NETTING:(03/11/2010) We netted the Paddock specimen lake this week to thin out the silverfish stocks. The idea of this is to allow the carp and cats more room and more of the angler's baits so that they keep growing on. In total we removed 700lb of small roach, rudd and carp. Also in the net we had a few of the lake larger residents including carp to 30lb, catfish to well over 70lb, perch to 3lb plus and a good head roach between 1lb 8oz and 2lb. All of which were returned to the lake.

TROPHIES FOR THE BIG HAYES CARP CHALLENGE: Nigel at Rig marole has kindly donated 5 trophies for the Big hayes carp challenge (which has now sold out). The trophies consist of 1 for the overall winner, 1 for the runner up, 1 for each of the qualifier winners and 1 for the biggest fish over the whole competition. We at Todber would like give Nigel a big thank you for donating the trophies and getting involved in the competition.

SUCCESS WITH THE NET: (30th Jan 2007) This week we netted the Paddock specimen lake to thin out the huge amounts of silver fish present in the lake. We did this to great effect taking out in the region of 1500lb, mainly made up of  roach and rudd with the odd small carp. This should give the carp and catfish more space to grow on, not that they have done bad as these two 20lb + cats and 26lb carp proves.

Notable catches on the day included Greg Palmer with 11 fish to mid doubles, Dan Yeatman with 5 fish to 13lb and guy James with 4 fish to 13lb (only did the day!).

Despite hideous conditions a few carp were banked and we were more than happy with the growth rate of the fish. The fish caught included a 20lb common and a 20lb mirror, which were both stocked at 17lb in the spring. Also a few of the of  the smaller stockies made an appearance with the best being an 11lb 8oz mirror. This carp came from a batch also stocked in the spring averaging 4lb 8oz!
